Industry Representation
As the amount of work performed by subcontractors continues to grow, so does the need for STA services and representation. STA represents its members on important City and State-wide boards, task forces and committees. The STA works closely with all City and State agencies suggesting improvements in their quality and performance in the construction business. The STA is a Member of the following:
- Mayor's Construction Advisory Board
- Mayor's Office of Construction
- The Metropolitan Transit Authority "Transit Factor Committee"
- The School Construction Authority, Health and Hospitals Corporation
- The Comptroller's Prevailing Wage Enforcement Council
- The Building Trades Employer's Association (BTEA)
- New York City Housing Authority
- The Department of Business Services and the Building and Construction Trades Council to resolve the "Trainee Problem" on ICIP projects.
